Why Pinoli Glass Marks a Turning Point for Tajmi

Why Pinoli Glass Marks a Turning Point for Tajmi

There are moments in building a company when you feel a subtle shift. Not dramatic. Just clear.

Bringing Pinoli Glass to Europe is one of those moments for me.

Before speaking about the partnership, I want to speak about the material itself. Glass in Turkey carries weight. During the Ottoman Empire, Istanbul became a meeting point of trade and technique, where glassmaking absorbed influence from Venice, the Middle East, and beyond. Over time, a distinct mastery was developed. From mosque lamps to everyday tea glasses, the material was never only functional. It shaped ritual and atmosphere.

That history still lives in the furnace.

When I first connected with Pinoli, I felt that continuity immediately. Everything is produced in Istanbul using traditional free-blown techniques. No molds or shortcuts. Just heat, breath, gravity, and timing.

What moved me even more was Pinar’s story.

She did not come from a formal fine arts path. Her early career was in corporate marketing and retail; structured environments that teach discipline and long term thinking. Her transition into glass was gradual and deeply hands on, learning directly inside the furnace alongside master artisans. She built her visual language through immersion, not theory.

I can relate to that.

Building Tajmi has always been about bridging worlds, aesthetics and business, intuition and structure. With Pinoli, I saw the same balance. Her work draws from historical silhouettes but feels undeniably current. The proportions are grandiose. The colour layering is refined. The pieces carry small traces of their making (slight shifts, irregularities) that remind you a human hand was present.

These are not only decorative objects, they are collectible works. Their stature alter the way light lives in a room.

For Tajmi, representing Pinoli Glass exclusively in Europe marks an evolution. We are stepping more consciously into collectible artwork, and into pieces that sit beyond trend and beyond seasonal cycles. This is about longevity, about material dept, about building relationships with artists whose practices will grow alongside us.

I have always believed that home is shaped by what we choose to live with. Not just visually, but emotionally. Pinoli’s work carries that emotional dimension we crave.

This partnership has been developing slowly for well over 2 years. Conversations, alignment, and organic growth on both our parts.

Pinoli Glass is now exclusively represented in Europe by Tajmi, and for me, this is not just an addition to our collection. It is a statement about where we are heading.
