LOCATION & BACKGROUND
Lameice works between Milan and Jerusalem, two cities that have deeply shaped her aesthetic sensibilities and approach to material culture. Production takes place in Jaba, a small Palestinian village in the West Bank, where she collaborates with the Twam family, master glassblowers who have kept the tradition alive for generations. Her journey began in Jerusalem, with an early fascination for form and sensory experience. Later, studying design in Milan, she discovered that objects are not just aesthetic - they are vessels of memory, emotion, and connection.
CREATIVE APPROACH & INSPIRATION
Her work embodies "defiant playfulness"- whimsy within tradition. Inspired by 4,000 years of Palestinian glassblowing, her collections carry emotional narratives. Collaboration with the Twam family lets fire, breath, and gravity shape forms unpredictably. At its heart, her work proves Palestinian creativity doesn't just survive - it evolves and creates beauty despite impossible circumstances; "Look what we can create. See how we play with fire and make it laugh."
FAVOURITE THING AT HOME
She treasures her grandmother's glass vitrine for the stories inside it. Each tea glass and trinket is tied to memories of family gatherings and decades of life. It taught her that objects are carriers of memory, shaping her belief that design is not just about creating forms, but about making future vessels of story and sentiment.
MEANING OF HOME
For Lameice, home is the place where contradictions coexist freely, without explanation. It is where family, memory, and creativity intertwine - a space of belonging and play. Her work continues this philosophy, crafting objects that weave into daily rituals.
