LOCATION & BACKGROUND
Natalie is currently based in Barcelona, where she produces her work and continues to develop her glass practice. Her life has unfolded across multiple cities, shaped by movement, displacement, and rebuilding. Originally from Ukraine, her personal history and recent geopolitical realities deeply inform her work, infusing it with themes of memory, rupture, and continuity.
CREATIVE APPROACH & INSPIRATION
Glass sits at the core of her practice. Trained in disciplines defined by precision and control, she is drawn to glass for its unpredictability and demand for presence. Her work explores the balance between structure and improvisation, intuition and restraint. Landscapes, ritual spaces, and objects that exist between use and symbol are recurring references, often rooted in personal memory and inherited traditions.
FAVOURITE THING AT HOME
Her favourite object at home is her violin. Carried from country to country, it holds both personal history and future intention. Though untouched for years, it represents a return she is slowly preparing for.
MEANING OF HOME
For Natalie, home is fluid and continually evolving. After years of moving between countries, home is less a fixed place and more a collection of objects, memories, and rituals that travel with her. Her work reflects this sensibility; fragile roots formed in glass, echoing a life shaped by movement and adaptation.
